It all began in 2018 when siblings Deron Fell and Shenice Drakeford set out to create something meaningful. Together, they believed that water was not just water. It was the foundation of life, wellness, and balance.
What started as a local idea quickly grew into a community favorite. Alkali60 could be found on the shelves of 7-Eleven, in Tropical Smoothie Café, and at events and small shops across the DMV. The goal was simple yet ambitious: to promote hydration and wellness through alkaline water with a pH of 9.5, helping people live healthier, more mindful lives.
As the brand grew, so did the vision. Customers began asking for more. They wanted better hydration and a more sustainable way to experience it. By 2020, Alkali60 had sold more than 20,000 bottles, becoming a name recognized for its clean taste and quality.
Then came new challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted supply chains and production, forcing the team to pause and reflect. During that time, the team began reimagining the future of the brand. They searched for ways to preserve the signature taste of Alkali60 while reducing the impact on the environment.
Tragically, in 2020, Alkali60 lost its co-founder, Deron Fell. His creativity, passion, and belief in the power of water remain at the heart of the brand. What followed was a quiet period of reflection and rebuilding, a time to honor what he started and rediscover why it mattered.
Now, in 2025, Alkali60 returns with a renewed mission. The brand continues to deliver naturally sourced artesian water in sustainable aluminum bottles, maintaining the same purity and refreshing taste that made it loved from the beginning.
This chapter is both a continuation and a tribute. It is a promise to uphold the mission Deron helped create and to keep growing through research, innovation, and care for the planet.
